• Do you track dresses for school?

    Yes, we have our “Prom Promise”, which means we will not sell the same dress, in the same color, to anyone attending your event.

  • Do you also track for online sales?

    Yes we track every dress sold from our store. After placing your order you will receive a follow up email within one business day with the availability of your dress.

  • How do I know what size to order?

    Per each dress there is a size chart attached. You will take measurements of your bust, waist, and hips and compare. See attached chart. Please take into consideration most formal dresses will need altering, and often times dresses do not leave room to “let out”. It is always easier to “take in” a dress, if in doubt go to the next size up. For Answers on measurements, see the easy how-to diagram here.

  • Steps for online ordering?

    Step 1 Add items to your shopping cart.
    Step 2 Confirm style, dress, size, and color then checkout
    Step 3 Shipping Information Fill out all information including event, school, and wear date.
    Step 4 Billing Information Add email address and phone #
    Step 5 Confirm Order Select payment information.
    Step 6 Order Complete After completing your order you will receive an email to confirm your order within 1 business day.

  • What is my event?

    Your event is the event you are wearing your dress to. Example Prom, Sweetheart, Turnabout, Homecoming, wedding, sorority event, etc.

  • What is my school?

    Your school should be the school that you are attending that event. If there is no school for your event enter “x”. If the event is a pageant, military ball- etc, enter the type for example: Miss Teen Illinois or Marine Corps Ball.

  • What is my wear date?

    Your wear date is the date of the event you will be wearing the dress.

  • What is your return policy?

    All dress sales are final. Accessories may be returned, if not worn, for store credit or exchange with receipt.

  • Is your online ordering secure?

    Yes our site uses AMG Secure Pay and is 100% PCI compliant. We also have SSL on our site encrypted for additional protection.

  • When is my credit card charged?

    Immediately after placing your order your card will be charged. If the dress is not available we will refund your card.

  • What payments do you take?

    We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Personal Checks. We also offer a layaway program in store; ask a prom coordinator for details.

  • Do you have a store where I can try on?

    Yes, our store is located in downtown Oswego, at 27 Main Street. You can find directions under store information. Our store is jammed packed with just under 2000 dresses; prom coordinators are available to help you achieve your perfect look.

    We are located 2 blocks off of route 34 in downtown Oswego, next to the Village Grind.

  • What price do your dresses start at?

    We have actively searched out dresses for all price points this year, short dresses starting at $55, slim dresses starting at $100, and full dresses at $155.

  • Are you able to match a vest and tie to my dress?

    Yes! Located in The Prom Shoppe is American Male and Co. which specializes in Tuxedos. We have a swatch card of every vest color available this season and have color consultants on hand to make it a perfect match.

  • What are your store hours?

  • Are all the dresses on your website in your store?

    We carry more dresses in store than we show on our website. Each season we hand pick a selection of dresses to display on our website to showcase the trends, cuts, colors and designers for that season. It is also possible that a dress on our site has been sold out and may not be in stock, but we can always look into special ordering.

  • Do you offer alterations?

    We outsource all of our tailoring. We have compiled a list of area tailors/seamstresses based on customer recommendations. We are not responsible for any tailoring.

  • Do you need an appointment to look for dresses?

    No, it is a first come first serve basis. We do not put a limit on your dressing room time; each girl finds the perfect dress on her time.

  • Do you have any tips for coming to the store?

    Come prepared to try on dresses! We recommend having an open mind, as many dresses do not look as great on the hanger as they will on your body. We also have shoes, gloves, jewelry and handbags available to accessorize your dress right there in the mirror while you have it on! You may bring your own shoes if you would like, but we will have something for you to try on.

  • What are the shipping options?

    After an order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. Within one business day you will receive a second email confirming stock, school availability and ship date. During order process you have the option of four shipping methods.

    2 Day which you will receive 3 business days after given ship date.

    3 Day which you will receive 4 business days after given ship date.

    Ground which you will receive 5-7 business days after given ship date.

    International which you will receive 6-10 business days after given ship date.

    All orders ship UPS and prices vary per dress.
